Hey there, I’m Katie! Welcome to my little corner of the military world. Right now, my family and I are living the beautiful aloha life on O’ahu, Hawaii, where we’ve been stationed for almost three years. If you look out my window, you’ll see the historic base homes of Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH)—a place we proudly call home, embracing every unique opportunity and learning all we can about the rich culture and history of the Hawaiian people.

My life is a beautiful, chaotic mix of two major roles: I am the proud mom to four elementary school-aged kids, and the wife to an incredible Marine guy who just can’t seem to retire, even after more than 20 years of active service. I’ve walked the walks, packed the care packages, and teared up at the change-of-command ceremonies. I know exactly what it means to keep a household running smoothly while your heart is thousands of miles away on deployment.

That lived experience is exactly why I became the Founder and Lead Writer of MotherProud. Every single deployment survival guide, care package idea, and piece of advice you read here comes straight from my real-world kitchen table. More than just words, I also design our exclusive apparel lines from that same table—crafted to survive the heavy laundry rotation of a big military family and to be worn with absolute pride.

When I’m not writing or collaborating with fellow military families, you can usually find me at the beach with the kids, chatting in the alleyway with neighbors while the little ones play, watching British crime dramas to escape the chaos while folding endless laundry, or planning our next weekend trip around the islands.
